Nurture a child’s first five years by:
- Encouraging healthy eating habits through delicious and nutritious foods
- Maintaining a keen awareness of children who have allergies and food restrictions
- Following the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the Director
- Assisting with ordering food and calculating the amount needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and kitchen management
- Strong skills in inventory management and control
- Ability to manage food service and catering operations
- Experience in supervising and leading kitchen teams
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and food production

The Food Service Teacher / School Chef prepares and serves healthy meals and snacks in our warming kitchen, following state and local food safety standards. You’ll help create a positive dining experience that fuels children’s growth and love of learning.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare and serve meals/snacks per the Primrose Balanced Menu
- Follow Maryland Department of Health and Harford County Health Department food safety rules
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the warming kitchen and food areas
- Track inventory and assist with food orders
- Be aware of food allergies and dietary restrictions
- Encourage healthy eating habits among children
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in food preparation or kitchen management (school or childcare preferred)
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification (preferred)
- Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
- Positive attitude and love for working around children
